An ode to friendship de Wilting Rose

Sometimes in my life
i have been alone
invisible in a crowd of people
a stranger in my own home
at times it felt there was nothing left
no-one who could understand
no reason to keep on going
nobody to hold my hand
but amidst the darkness and pain
there was a distant glimmer of hope
something that caused me to believe again
and learn it was possible to cope
a thing i had never counted on
my friends supporting me
helping me when i needed it most
teaching me not to cave in or flee
now the sun's everlasting rays of hope
will shine in my eyes once more
and now, with you beside me
tomorrow looks closer than ever before
